The People and Funders behind the Accelerate Green Hub

This initiative is part of an overall strategic framework for inter-territorial co-operation between Roscommon Leader Partnership and Meath Partnership aimed at supporting and accelerating growth in the rural economy by focussing on green entrepreneurship and sustainable energy as a major developing sector of the rural and local economy.

Roscommon LEADER Partnership (RLP), the lead partner for this project, is responsible for the integrated LEADER Partnership Company for County Roscommon with core responsibility for the delivery of the Rural Development Programme 2007-2013 and other programmes. RLP has been operational since January 2009 with a mission to aid, encourage and advance rural development and social inclusion in County Roscommon.

Meath Partnership is a local partnership company established in 2006 to deliver a range of rural, social and economic programmes at local level across County Meath. Through these programmes, we provide support and assistance to private individuals and community groups active at local level through capital grant aid, technical assistance, guidance and mentoring, information and support, training opportunities and development initiatives.

This initiative has been funded through the LEADER element of the Rural Development Programme 2007 - 2013. LEADER - ‘Liason Entre Actions pour le Development d’lEconomie Rurale’ is a rural development programme part-funded by the European Union which forms an integral part of Ireland’s Rural Development Programme 2007 – 2013. Delivered locally through a network of local action groups, the programme aims to improve the quality of life in rural areas and to strengthen and diversify the rural economy. The Department of Environment, Community and Local Development are the managing authority for this fund in Ireland.
